Double-Hung Window Construction & Weather Performance

Our Super-Energy-Saver windows include built-in features for durability, security, and year-round performance. Double-pane, double-strength glass and virgin vinyl frames are designed for exposure to wind, rain, debris, and heat. Dual locks support a tight closure and help limit air infiltration.

The insulated glass package includes low-emissivity glass and argon gas fills. Low-emissivity glass has a thin coating that helps reduce unwanted heat transfer through the glass. Argon is an insulating gas placed between the panes to further limit heat transfer. Actual performance depends on the complete window assembly, installation, climate, and condition of the surrounding wall.

Easy Cleaning & Care

Tilt-in sashes allow homeowners to clean the exterior-facing glass from inside the home. This eliminates the need to clean the glass from the outside during routine care. Cleaning needs can vary based on exposure to pollen, dust, salt, pollution, and other environmental conditions.

We recommend cleaning your windows two to three times per year. Use a soft cloth with dish soap and water to wipe down the frame. Tilt the sash inward, then clean the glass with a soft towel. Avoid rough tools or abrasive cleaners unless they’re specifically permitted by the product care instructions.

U-factor measures the rate at which heat moves through a complete window assembly, with a lower number generally indicating better insulating performance. Replacing inefficient windows can reduce drafts and support more consistent indoor comfort, but actual energy savings vary from one home to another.
